My father runs the foodservice at a hospital, my sister is a vegetarian and my mother makes some pretty serious pies, so obviously a variety of food has always been in integral part of my life. I enjoy baking bread and swam competitively through college, so while I’ve always enjoyed quantity, I focus more on quality these days. It is important to note that while I don’t mind paying handsomely for a more expensive meal, I truly believe some of the more memorable dishes I’ve ever had at a restaurant were under $10.
After four years in Memphis, TN I have a great appreciation for hearty southern dishes and of course BBQ. I think a good drink can really add to a dining experience; I’ve brewed my own beer, toured all of Kentucky bourbon country and have been learning more and more about wine here in Virginia. I grew up loving salmon, enjoy spicy dishes (Thai, Indian, etc), generally have an apple a day and basically view life as one big meal…with lots of breaks in-between!
